Entry for December 22, 2007

I have found an illustrator for my new Children's book.  He is a Gardenhire cousin, lives in Cleveland and is a professional artist.  He also has published a charming book called: DAD AND ME.   Also, I have found a really good computer man who has helped my a lot in just one lesson.  I am looking forward to more and learning more about this thing.  It can be wonderful, I am told.

Can this year be alsmot over already?  It's flying by has been a good one and let us hope for another of its kind next year.

Two wonderful books that I have devoured in the last week or so include: BLOOD DONE SIGN MY NAME and KITE RUNNER.  The latter my book club at HueMan Books in Harlem is discussing on the 27Th.  That will be an engaging evening for sure, since many of the partipants bring varied experiences and ages to the "table" making any discussion there a kick.

We held our end of year party for friends and clients of the Son in Law last  Friday which went on until 5:00 in the morning.  I retired at 2:15 but the party sailed on and happily, I am told.

I spoke to the Exssex County Ethical Culture Society on Dec. 9Th.  They have invited me back and also to speak to there NYC society next year.  That will be fun.  I talked about parenting and what is required for successful parenting.  Dos and don'ts were not a part of it.  I talked about the idea of it and how that is the foundation for any success in this endeavor.   Monday morning found me in Goldfinch Book Store where there stood two ladies buying LL.  It does not get any better.

Alissa, Chris and C J are going to Jamaica in the morning and I shall be serving the homeless at the Alpha's program which operates out of theUnited Methodist Church in E. Orange.  It runs from 9:00 to 5:00 so there will be plenty of work to do there.  I shall have dinner with my Bridge hostes lady, Phyliss after that.  Stay well.
