My computuer expert helped me to post a photo of the sign at the Essex County Ethical Culture Society.  I had a hell of a time finding and blogging a message for that lovely sign.  Done now, the sign annonces my little talk to the group on the 9Th of December, where I discussed the writing of LL and  talked about the contents too.  Several people had read the book and loved it, especially the chapter on bullies.  How did Dad know just what to do with a bully?





My HueMan Book Club discussed "Kite Runner" at our last meeting.  The club is made up of 14 Black men none of whom you would read about in the main line media: writers -both play and fiction;  NYC Dean of old languages - Greek, Latin and god knows what others toatling 5; business men and much more. The duscussions are truely insightful and articulate beyond words. Oh, I was not mad about the book because I tend to want hateful people to suffer and have really unhappy endings. No, no, he did not suffer enough, in my humble view.



I fed the homeless at a church near here on Christmas where a man who sauntered up to be served was working more than 56 hours a week and yet he was living in his car. What, in the richest country in the world with rat hole money for Iraq, how can that be?
