On yesterday,  I had the most amazing phone call from a former student from my Novato Unified School District Days.  This young man found me via the net and called.  He is the California Assistant Post Master and was a favorite of mine back then in the 1960's.  I am very proud of what he has done in his life.  He deserves the success that he has achieved totally.  He is proof that deciding to do your best can work for you even if one is not the smartest kid in the room.  Attitude counts!  He related how he realized that there were kids around him who were brighter, but in the 9Th grade, he figured out that achievement requires more that "smarts," as he put it.  Cheers for Michael!!
