I just came back from Carnegie Hall where Kathleen Battle sand a glorious recital this afternoon.  She is in wonderful voice: pure, clean, powerful poised, refined and stylish as ever.  I am angry that she has not been allowed to sing at the Met as she should have been.  A voice like hers is singular in this world and it is criminal that those nuts refuse to engage her.  We, the public have been cheated over the last 15  years by not having her on the stage, any stage!!

 I am writing to the Met to tell them that and a few other choice things.
