Entry for September 2, 2007

I took Life Lessons to the Queen's Book Fair on yesterday and we did very well there, selling lots of books and meeting some remarkable young writers.  These events, Fairs, seem made for finding old friends and this one was no different: Mattalyn's cousin from Arkansas, Walter's former assistant pastor and more.  NYC public transit is wonderful too.  I took the "E" train back to Penn Station, got the NJ Transit Exspress train to Maplewood in short order.  Arriving at the Maplewood stop, I discovered that I, with all of that paper money in pocket, had only thirtyfive coined cents, not enough for a phone call.   My "cell" was showing  "Emergiency calls only" and all of the  few alighting passengers having departed the station, I was forced to walked a brisk 20 minutes home.  Arriving home, Alissa wondered aloud why I was "all wet?"  Why indeed!!

I have had two Emails from participants and an invitation to "do a book signing" in South Carolina that I might just take rather grand little lady (She wrote a history of her AME Church, came to the Fair dressed to the nines wearing enough gold to start a store.) up on.

We take LL to the Brooklyn Fair on the 15th.  I know that will be fun too.
